Chicago, Illinois native MARC J. BLUMENTHAL has always known he wanted to be a lawyer. Inspired by diverse individuals in the field of law as a youth, Mr. Blumenthal realized he wanted to participate in a profession where he, like the lawyers he admired, would have opportunities to affect positive changes in people’s lives.
After studying at the University of Illinois at Champaign, where he received a B.A. in History, Mr. Blumenthal attended the Illinois Institute of Technology Chicago-Kent College of Law, graduating in 1976. Upon graduation, Mr. Blumenthal chose to stay and practice law in Illinois, because he enjoys the strong sense of community in the Chicago area. Now, he brings more than forty years’ experience in law to his role as the principal of the Law Offices of Marc J. Blumenthal, Ltd., located in Arlington Heights, Illinois.

Mr. Blumenthal is active in the legal and business communities. As a secretary, as well as member, of the Illinois Real Estate Lawyers Association, he speaks at a variety of real estate seminars, both to professionals in the real estate field and members of the public. Additionally, Mr. Blumenthal’s other affiliations, which reflect the diversity of his practice, include membership in the Illinois State Bar Association, the Northwest Suburban Bar Association and the Transportation Lawyers Association. In concert with serving as a member of the Probate and Estate Planning Committee of the Northwest Suburban Bar Association, Mr. Blumenthal has presented at its estate planning and probate seminars.
In recent years, Mr. Blumenthal has become increasingly involved with local charities and non-profit organizations, using his legal experience to further his professional goal of making a difference in other people’s lives. One rewarding pursuit has been working with Avenues to Independence, which assists developmentally disabled adults. Mr. Blumenthal, a long-time resident of Buffalo Grove, Illinois, currently serves as the Past-President of the Buffalo Grove Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce.
